The Role
Job description
Do you want to connect with people from all over the world with diverse interests? We love it, and we think you will too in Wrightsville Beach, NC at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort! We are looking for a qualified candidate with sales experience, a sense of urgency, and pride in a job well done.
The Blockade Runner Beach Resort, a leader in the hospitality industry in Wrighstville Beach and Wilmington NC, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in Sales, preferably with full service hotels, to join their team as DIRECTOR OF SALES. The Director of Sales is responsible for conducting outside sales calls, obtaining new business accounts, strengthening current accounts, conducting site tours, networking within the local business community and driving sales.
The chosen candidate will also be responsible for sales forecasting, the creation of promotional material, and maintaining constant communication with the General Manager to include weekly revenue meetings, action plans, and sales activity logs. Internal coordination with all operational departments for execution of group services.
The candidate will oversee and lead a team of outside sales managers, event services managers as well as administrators, to the successful achievement of established goals.
Job Requirements
  • Previous experience as a DOS or Sales Manager in the hotel industry preferred
  • Upscale hotel experience preferred
  • Highly motivated individual with strong initiative and drive as excellent computer skills required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must be an effective salesperson and leader, and able to drive revenue by executing a proactive Sales process.
MOD rotation and event presence as needed
